Why did Audi build EC4P on VMware Cloud Foundation?
Audi built EC4P on VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) from Broadcom to get the best of both private and public cloud models in its factories.
VCF provides:
- Private cloud performance and security – critical for production environments where uptime, data protection, and predictable performance are essential.
- Public cloud–like agility and scale – allowing Audi to quickly roll out new applications, update worker support systems, and scale resources as production needs change.
By combining these capabilities, VCF helps Audi reimagine manufacturing IT as a flexible platform service, rather than a collection of isolated factory systems. This underpins EC4P’s ability to support advanced automation and digital workflows on the shop floor.
